Hi, I’m Chico!

I am an interdisciplinary researcher at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. My research consists in developing and applying new computational and quantitative methods for the social sciences, currently focusing on the dynamics of public opinion, political volatility, agenda setting and human mobility, and on the analysis of large-scale datasets. I am also very interested in using these new methods to investigate how the media environments we inhabit shape the beliefs we hold, the information we spread and the stories we tell.

When I’m not doing science, you might find me writing for Huffpost Brasil or for The Conversation, or making YouTube videos at BláBláLogia, which is a part of Science Vlogs Brasil. If you want to know more, use the menu on the left, or go to my CV.
